Do you have a YouTube channel?

In this module, we’ll show you how to promote SafetyWing on your YouTube channel to maximize your affiliate earnings. We will showcase visual real-life examples from our Ambassadors who are already promoting SafetyWing successfully to inspire you to get started.

How many YouTube subscribers do I need?

While we do not have a minimum subscriber requirement to join our SafetyWing Ambassador program, we typically see the best results with YouTube channels that have 2K+ subscribers.

More subscribers typically mean more eyeballs and therefore potentially more people clicking on your affiliate link, if you have placed it in the description and added a call-to-action to check out the link in the description during the video. However, you can also be easily discovered by people searching YouTube about a specific topic without having huge numbers.

What’s even more important is that you understand your audience and you promote products they actually want. So having a smaller community with a very targeted audience can definitely be very successful with affiliate marketing.

Ways to promote SafetyWing

Link implementation

Links in your video description are a great way to promote SafetyWing and done right, it can get you a lot of clicks.

They are also very easy to implement as they don’t take much time and can be added to the “upload default - description” to automatically add it under a new video’s description.

Simply head to your Ambassador Cockpit and create your unique affiliate link. Our campaign feature will help you create links that can be used on specific videos to track their impact and success.

With links, we recommend the following:

  1. Placing your Ambassador link in the description of the video towards the top for videos that are already doing well and receive the most views on your channel (this can also be ever-green content such as “top 10” or “most visited” or “digital nomad resources” or “cost of living” videos)
  2. Placing the link as high as possible in the description, links that appear in the bottom half of the description are often not nearly clicked as much as the ones at the top
  3. Use a call to action when placing your Ambassador link, such as “Check out the link in description”, “Get insured by clicking the link below”- try to be short and precise and feel free to create some urgency
  4. Quality content always wins! Make sure you provide real value, try to speak from your own experience and be personal and trustworthy
  5. Always be transparent and let your audience know when you use affiliate links, this will also help avoid search engine penalties and legal issues
